ART


Art is a very important part of Indigenous culture in Jawoyn country. At the Festival you can make your own art or buy some traditional work by the people of Jawoyn country.  


PAINTING
 

See the in sidebar for examples of some of the art you can purchase.


WEAVING 

With the help of Diane, a Jawoyn woman, using traditional pandanas, at the Festival you can weave your own basket, mat or dilly (carry) bags.


DIDGERIDOOS

Unique to the Barunga Festival you have the opportunity to make your own didgeridoo. All didgeridoos are hand made with the help a traditional didgeridoo maker from the Barunga community. 


WEAPONRY

Traditionally Indigenous culture relied on weapons to survive…
